Courtz Quartz

I've decided to become an avid rock collector. I got the idea on Monday, when I found a Quartz at a thrift store. I've always loved anything outdoorsie. Infact, when I was younger my siblings and I tried to have a "rock sale." Typically, you drive by a house with a cluster of kids in the front yard trying to sell you lemonade for 50 cents. When you drove by our household, you saw a little cardboard sign that read, "Rocks & Bugs for sale."

Here's to starting a new hobby; rock collecting.

Rock 1: Quartz

Quartz are typically colorless with a possible purple or rose tone. It is the most common mineral found on earth. This rock is unique, and has many forms, habits, and colors. Quartz has a Vitreous Luster, which means it will reflect light such as glass will. Three key ingredients are present when creating this pretty formation; the earth's crust, oxygen, and silicon. When you lay a hand on this rock, it's cool to the touch. This is from it's high thermo-conductivity nature. Way back when, the Indian's believed that Quartz were cool to the touch because they were permanently frozen ice.
Science has come such a long way since then. Quartz have been around, that we know of, for over 4,000 years. Which means my very own Quartz, which cost me .88 cents, could have been held by an ancient person. The possibilities are endless.

Unwritten...

Here I am, about to have a wonderful day. Words can't describe it--- you wake up and feel it. The day is going to go great, and you just don't know why. All because you are going to have a wonderful day, doesn't mean everything needs to go superb. What makes a wonderful day, is entirely in your hands.

Even though the day is still young, lots have been accomplished. It all started this morning at 5:00AM, my alarm sounded signifying it was time to wake up. Last night I had thought about this moment, the moment when my alarm would go off, which meant I had to get out of my warm cozy bed. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, I easily rolled out of bed. Which was quite frankly, and big surprise. My poor sleep deprived college student body wasn't used to getting up this early. Hopefully sooner rather than later, my body will adjust, because there are many more of these mornings left to come.

We all seemed ready to go despite the fact we were up before the sun rose. Anxious to write our own future, we shuffled in one by one, geared up, and got to work. "Hardwork beats talent, when talent doesn't work hard." These words shifted through my mind. I'm proud to be part of this team, a team that never gives up, a team that sticks together through thick and thin, and a team I can call my family. What makes me the happiest, is that the other girls feel the same way.

After practice I had class, which quite frankly wasn't super eventful. You know the typical... power points, professors trying to be funny, and the o' so joyful popquiz.

After that, I got to spend some much needed time with one of my best friends. This gal is great, and trust me if you don't know her, you want to! She's the type of friend everyone wants, but not everyone the luck of having. We met up, and made our way to one of our favorite spots, Community Thrift. We budged through the isles, glancing and talking about all the neat treasures. Oh ya, I forgot to tell you, we had a baby with us too. Kolie-man, the cutest little guy you ever did see. After placing a handful of things in our cart, we sorted back through each object. Deciding if the object made the cut or not. Combined, our total was under $10. What a steal.

What makes a day special, isn't what you do... but it's who you share it with. What makes a wonderful day, is entirely in your hands. We get to choose who we spend each day with. There are only 365 of these in each year, make this one count.
